In Full Bloom - Spring Senior + Family Portraits

Updated: Jul 5

Every Spring when the trees start to bud, I am like a child waiting for Christmas. I watch them from my car window, taking the long way everywhere I go, eagerly awaiting the pink and white blossoms.

When they finally burst forth, I am dying to photograph them!

Weather is always a factor for a Colorado portrait photographer, so there can be the unwanted spring snow storm. This year I dealt with that on a couple of occasions, but I learned that tree blossoms are very resilient and can withstand some pretty heavy snowstorms!

Spring can be the perfect time for senior portraits. It might seem a little strange that you are finishing up your Junior year and you are getting senior portraits taken, but you'll soon get over that feeling when you realize how beautiful spring images will be!

This year I photographed my senior team at the height of the blossoms. I told them to wear a colorful dress or something Boho style for the photo shoot. We had a gorgeous location with green grass and pink and white trees.

Accessories are always fun, so I brought my bag of tricks (hats + sunglasses). The girls had a great time getting both group and individual images.

Another spring session I did was for a senior who had had orthodontics most of her senior year. We had gotten a portrait for the yearbook in the fall, but we got to do a full session with her new smile in the spring. I drove all over and found the best trees in a neighborhood in Boulder. I also knew there would be tulips on Pearl Street.

Boulder was blooming all around town, so I had a great time finding spring color with my Senior Rep, Sammi. We ended at Chatauqua, where there were some wildflowers starting to bloom.

Spring is also a great time for graduation photos! With extended family coming into town, this is the perfect time to capture everyone all together. I am your go-to photographer for Denver and Boulder graduation portraits.

Before your senior heads off to college and life gets busy for them, it's a great time to get family photos while you are all still together. For the Templeton family, we were able to capture green grass and snow on the same day.

I love being a Denver and Boulder senior portrait and family photographer because every season of the year is beautiful and different!
