Junior year can be such a grind and a whirlwind, with taking difficult classes, completing standardized testing, and thinking about colleges. But before you know it, your child will be a senior, and the yearbook deadline sneaks up not far into his or her senior year. It is not too early to start planning for senior photos.

SEASONS FOR SENIOR PHOTOS
Spring
The spring of Junior year can be a great time for photos, as this tends to be the greenest time of year in Colorado. We can also time it to get the colorful blossoms that are blooming everywhere.
Summer
While summer can be busy with travel and activities, the days are long, giving us lots of time for outdoor photos. We have all kinds of location options open to us from parks and open spaces to lakes, rivers and meadows.
Fall
Fall is often the busiest time for high school senior photographers, as many students want fall colors in their photos, or they have put off planning for photos and realize that the deadline is approaching.
Winter
Urban settings can be a lot of fun for senior photos, because there are interesting architectural details that make great backdrops, like brick walls, stairways, bridges, etc. The great thing about an urban photo session is that the season does not matter, so we can get great photos any time of year, including winter. Additionally, a studio senior portrait session can happen any time of year. This can work well for someone wanting a traditional, simple portrait session if they want to include something like a musical instrument.
I have many favorite locations from downtown Denver and Arvada areas to parks and meadows across the northwest Denver suburbs. I love location scouting, and no matter the season, I will preview different areas to find the best spot.
