I will offer advice on what to wear before the session so that your senior feels prepared and confident. On the day of, we will spend as much times as we need creating different looks through outfits, posing and moving around our location. Kind Words
Shelley was great to work with. She traveled to all of my daughter's favorite places and was willing to hike to those inaccessible by car. My daughter had a very specific vision of her senior pictures, and Shelley was able to work with her and provide the exact pictures she wanted. Shelley's final product was amazing and we had so many different options for prints that we were able to get everyone in the family the exact type of print they wanted.

I highly recommend Shelley, she took senior photos for my daughter and they were fantastic. I plan on using her for family photos this year and will definitely use her for my other daughter’s senior photos in two years.

FAQs
Q: When should I get my senior pictures taken?
A: Many juniors start thinking about their senior portraits in the fall of Junior year. This allows plenty of time for planning your session and getting the look you want. Even before things start blooming and getting green, there is the option of choosing an urban location, or a location with tall grasses and going at sunset for a nice, warm, sunny look. If you are wanting more color in your Colorado senior photos in terms of green grass, trees, flowers, etc., mid-May through September is great. Many people get their senior pictures in the fall because, either they want fall colors, or they haven't planned ahead. Fall tends to be the busiest time of year for portrait photographers because fall is the most popular time of year for family photos as well as senior photos.
Q: Where should I have my pictures taken?
A: Living in Colorado, we have so many wonderful locations to choose from for your senior portrait session. I know of many parks, open spaces, downtown urban areas, areas in the foothills and mountains, and places near parks and rivers. At our discovery meeting, we will talk about options and what is appealing to you. Something to note is that some locations require permits and require planning ahead. I also have a home studio. One thing that can make great senior pictures is having textures from buildings in the background. I have a couple of locations that has a variety of buildings in addition to a beautiful natural setting. I love giving people different looks in their senior photo gallery.
Q: What do I wear?
A: In general I recommend planning at least two different outfits for your senior photo session. I usually suggest a more casual outfit and a dressier outfit. Also, a denim jacket can add a third/fourth look when layered with your outfits. Dresses can be timeless and flattering for senior portraits. Avoid logos and text. I will give you a senior portrait style guide beforehand and make suggestions for where to shop.
Q: Who goes to the photo shoot?
A: This is up to you and your child and what makes him or her the most comfortable. Some individuals prefer to come alone, while others enjoy the support of their mom, family member or friend.
